THE PRIME CAUSE & PREVENTION OF DISEASE. Do you suffer from congestion, frequent colds, rashes, cold sores, digestive discomfort, aches and pains & acidity … allergies?
An acid pH is the term used to describe the imbalanced acid condition of all our body fluids. An acid pH may generally go unnoticed for years and leads to the progression of most, if not all, degenerative diseases.
As the acidity of the body rises, it becomes difficult for the cells to use oxygen normally. The more acidic we become, the harder it is for oxygen to be present. Without adequate oxygenation, unfriendly bacteria, viruses and molds can live and prosper. In that case our cells cannot carry on their life-giving functions in an effective manner because our biological chemical reactions need oxygen. The state of an over-acidic system (acidosis) is largely due to processed, refined foods, high protein and high fat diets … they cause a lack of oxygen in the body. Even strict vegetarians must be just as wary as meat eaters because the high grain/legume based diet is also highly acid-forming. Our body tries very hard to dispose acidic waste in order to maintain alkalinity … it will leach the calcium (alkaline) right out of your bones to correct an acidic condition!
All normal cells have an absolute requirement for oxygen… but cancer cells can live without oxygen!
Diet appears to be the major influence in maintaining appropriate pH levels throughout the body. Fresh, raw, slightly steamed vegetables and fresh vegetable juices supply oxygen to the body. All the billions of cells that make up the human body must maintain an alkaline/acid balance in order to function and remain healthy and alive. The body will go to great lengths to neutralize and detoxify acids before they act as poisons in and around the cells … ultimately changing the environment of the cells.
Congestion, aches and flu-like symptoms are often thought of having caught a cold … instead these symptoms are often the result of the body in a state of toxicity. Remove the mucous with SLIPPERY ELM and change your food and beverages… you will feel and see results depending on your efforts by making your body more alkaline.
The body is in a continuous state of trying to balance its pH levels … it can only heal itself when it is in a more alkaline state. Sniffles, colds symptoms, cold sores, rashes and general skin problems are the language of the body - the indication that the body is too acid to perform properly - the body is trying to ‘clean house’ from the large quantity of acid-forming food. If you don’t listen, and continue to indulge in large amounts of starches and animal protein, which are both highly acid-forming … you will experience the consequences. Your body will leach the calcium (alkaline mineral) right out of your bones to correct an acidic condition. As time passes … arthritis, gout and more disabling diseases will result. The right pH proportions are important! EAT TO LIVE … NOT LIVE TO EAT!
One of the most provocative theories of cancer causation was originally put forth by two-time Nobel laureate, Dr. Otto Warburg. He was a German bio-chemist who won his first Nobel Price in 1931 for the discovery that oxygen deficiency and cell fermentation are part of the cancer process. According to Dr. Warburg’s theory, when cells are deprived of oxygen, they can revert to their ‘primitive state, deriving energy not from oxygen, as normal plants do, but rather from the fermentation of blood sugar. Thus, when respiration disappears, life does not disappear, but meaning of life disappears, and what remains are growing machines that destroy the body in which they grow.
“ALL NORMAL CELLS HAVE AN ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT FOR OXYGEN”,stated Dr. Warburg, “but CANCER CELLS CAN LIVE WITHOUT OXYGEN, a rule without exception”.
Here is an example of a highly ACID-FORMING MEAL

During the occupation of the U.S.Army I first became aware of the American diet which was very different from what I was used to. The major foods that were served in the American luncheon areas, were Hamburgers of all sizes, lots of French fries, doughnuts, Cokes and huge banana splits. I hardly ever noticed vegetables.
Now, decades later, the public is finally made aware about the consequences of this type of diet. The BUN is high in starchy carbohydrates, refined, processed, low or no fiber = highly acid-forming. The PATTY is high in fat, high in cholesterol, high in sodium = highly acid-forming. The processed cheese is high in fat, high in cholesterol, high in sodium = highly acid-forming.
Along with this I feel I have to comment about the ever popular, HISTORY-MAKING CROISSANT. I am sure that by now you have heard enough negativity about some of your favorite snacks … but here goes:
It seems that in the U.S.A. the French are credited with originating the world renowned croissant. However, it is the Austrian bakers who should be getting full credit for this very popular delicacy. These weight-producing, acid-forming, unhealthy, but delicious pastries actually made history and saved Vienna (Austria) from being overrun by the Turks!

In 1683 when the Ottomann Turks threatened to besiege Vienna (the second time) with their hordes of warriors, the Viennese were in great fear - they were not fighters! However the city’s bakers came to the rescue by creating a crescent-shaped pastry, derived from the crescent emblem on the Turkish flag. They told their customers to stop feeding their thoughts with fear but instead to feed themselves croissants, thus symbolically ‘killing’ a Turk whenever they ate a ‘Kipferl’, which is the Austrian term for croissants. This became so successful, that the Viennese laughingly compared notes on how many Turks they had devoured daily. This turn-about in their attitude gave them new strength and courage and instead of worrying about the approaching hordes of Turks - THEY DROVE THEM OFF with their newly- found attitude … but probably gained a few pounds in the process!This is probably one of the best examples of the power of positive thinking!
Below is an example of a proper alkaline/acid balanced snack. A combination of slightlysteamed broccoli, raw sprouts, cherry tomatoes and thin cucumber slices provide low fresh carbs … they contain oxygen and chlorophyll, and are all alkaline. Even though one slice of whole grain bread and a slice of cheese are acid-forming, they add protein and create a perfect 3:1 alkaline/acid-forming ratio.

Below - a blended raw vegetable combination consisting of an avocado, cherry tomatoes and cucumber slices. This blended combination can be a great addition over steamed or raw vegetables, or a baked potato … or as a soup = highly alkaline! It is simple to prepare … as all the other examples. In this combination you have your high alkaline food combined with protein from a delicious avocado. Why spend lots of time in the kitchen and over-cook vegetables, destroying their nourishing values! The simpler the meal - the easier it is on your digestion!

If you want to go on a healthy fast … below is one of the most nutritious ones … it originated in Austria during WWII. It is full of electrolytes, potassium and other minerals … good nutrition … and highly alkaline! Try to fast for one to three days (or more) … very beneficial for the whole digestive system. It helps eliminate accumulated poisons, and helps you lose some weight. The longer you stay on this fast … the more positive result you will feel and see.

Drink the health drink at least every half hour to keep your energy up. During fasting it is advisable NOT to do hard work or exercise … KEEP YOUR ENERGY FOR THE HEALING OF YOUR BODY!

Most diet colas are loaded with phosphoric acid, which leaches calcium from the bones, which also affects fingernails, teeth and hair! In addition, colas typically contain caffeine and large amounts of sugar which also cause increased excretion of calcium and magnesium … not to mention low blood sugar problems and the possibility of diabetes … in addition to being highly acid-forming.
Calcium’s most important role in the human body. is what it contributes to the bone density. Osteoporosis is a serious bone disease demonstrated by low bone mineral density that can occur when calcium is either not consumed or not absorbed by the body or leached from the bones. Magnesium aids in the absorption of calcium and helps the body utilize protein, and perhaps most importantly, magnesium is essential to heart health.

This beverage brings up memories which has a great deal to do with the way I feel about the consumption of coffee.
During WWII, black coffee beans were not available … only when we had an extremely heavy and prolonged bombing episode. At those times the government would distribute a small amount of coffee beans per adult … I always thought that it was for “good behavior”.
I remember my mother complaining about the dried-up looking beans, while she was counting them … 16 coffee beans were the reward for having endured the horrors of the bombing attack which hardly made one cup.
Coffee was no longer available in the few remaining stores … the only source was the black market which was usually in unpopulated, bombed-out, foreboding looking areas. It was amazing to see the collection of people, hovering about in shadowy places waiting to make their ‘exchange’. They brought shoes, clothing, yards of fabric, furniture, porcelain, silver and jewelry. It was a ‘market’ with ominous overtones, quick, hush-hush communication which left me with an uncomfortable feeling. I could not understand how one would give up ones treasures for a small bag of questionable coffee beans.
It was then when I made up my mind not to drink anything that could dominate me to such an extent and cause such anguish.
Caffeine in coffee is addictive and may trigger head-aches, anxiety, insomnia, raise blood pressure and can cause heartburn, irritability and other side effects … in addition to being acid-forming. It may also prevent iron and vitamins from being properly utilized.
You may experience temporarily relief from fatigue … but at what cost! Once you decide to try something more healthful, wean yourself slowly so that you don’t develop a headache or other side effects.
GENERAL CAFFEINE INFORMATION: regular green tea contains about 20 mg caffeine/cup; decaf green tea contains 5 - 7 mg caffeine/cup; black tea (any kind) contain 80-100 mg caffeine/cup; black coffee contains 100 - 200 mg caffeine/cup.
